The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a network of satellites, ground stations, and receivers that provide precise location and time information anywhere on the Earth’s surface. GPS works by using signals from satellites to determine the position of a receiver on the ground and can provide accuracy within a few meters. GPS is used in many applications, such as navigation, mapping, surveying, and monitoring the movement of people, vehicles, and assets.
