Start with Part 1
Then Part 2
1) DIY conversion stack step 1: Define a lead & response rule
- What counts: form submit, phone call > 30s, booking confirmed, chat handoff with contact info.
- Response-time SLA: answer or call back within 10 minutes during business hours. Put this on a sticky note by the phone.
2) Forms that convert (and don’t annoy)
- Keep it short: Name, Email, Phone (optional), Message. Add one dropdown if it helps routing.
- Anti-spam: enable a simple honeypot or reCAPTCHA v3. Avoid puzzles that frustrate humans.
- Thank-you page: confirm next steps and show a “Book a 15-min call” button.
3) Phone that’s easy to tap & track
- Make phone numbers
tel:links in header, footer, and Contact page. - Optional: use a single tracking number on the website only; keep your real number everywhere else.
- Voicemail: “We call back within 10 minutes during business hours.”
4) Booking widget (friction reducer)
- Add a simple calendar for 15–30 min consults.
- Turn on confirmations, reminders, and an easy reschedule link.
- Place it on the Thank-you page and link from the header CTA.
5) Chat/AI assistant (optional, powerful)
- Greet with the top 3 intents (“Quote,” “Availability,” “Pricing”).
- Collect name + email/phone before long answers; hand to a human when needed.
- Keep it polite and brief; no walls of text.
6) Email that actually lands (deliverability)
Use a professional mailbox (you@yourbusiness.com). Route form mail through SMTP and authenticate your domain.
- Create an SMTP provider account (e.g., SMTP.com, Mailgun, SendGrid).
- Add your domain and publish SPF + DKIM DNS records (add DMARC next).
- Install an SMTP plugin and enter host/port + API key/user.
- Send live tests: submit your form; confirm inbox delivery (not Spam/Promotions).
7) GA4 conversions (no jargon)
- Mark these as Conversions: form submit (event), phone click (event), booking complete (event/page), chat lead (event).
- Add UTM tags to links you share (e.g., social/email):
?utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=consult.
8) One-glance “Leads” view
- Use a simple dashboard (Looker Studio or your platform’s built-in): show Leads, Source/Medium, Top pages, and Last 30 days.
- Decide one improvement from the data each month (fix a slow page, expand a high-performing topic, tighten a CTA).
9) Follow-up that wins (templates you can paste)
Auto-reply (email)
Subject: We got your request — next steps
Hi {{FirstName}}, thanks for reaching out. We’ll reply within 10–30 minutes during business hours (and first thing next business day otherwise). If it’s easier, you can also book a 15-minute call here. — {{Your Business}}
Day-2 nudge (email)
Subject: Still interested in {{Service}}?
Quick check: do you want us to hold a slot for {{ThisWeek/NextWeek}} or answer any last questions?
Once your DIY conversion stack is in place, the goal is simple: improve one small step each month and let the gains compound.
10) Monthly tune-up (30 minutes)
- Top landing pages: add a clearer CTA or a short FAQ.
- Form drop-off: remove one field and retest.
- Phone review: listen to 2–3 calls; adjust greeting or script.
- Booking: ensure near-term availability is visible.
